': People who have changed the world '

Dobry Dimitrov Dobrew, popularly known as The Saint of Bailovo, was born on July 24, 1914, in Bailovo, Bulgaria. After the death of his father in the First World War, his mother led a very busy life and took care of little Dobrew. His mother was a devout Orthodox Christian, and the only thing left in his home was a good life. Growing up in such an environment, Dobry Dimitrov Dobrov gradually transformed his life into a meaningful life full of kindness and compassion. During World War II, a bomb blast in Sofia, Bulgaria, exploded, leaving him permanently deaf and losing two of his children.

After selling all his property in 2000, he donated it to the needs of the poor. Since then, his permanent residence has been a small shed adjacent to the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in his hometown. He walked 20 kilometers daily from the village and sat on the ground in front of Alexander Nevsky, the main church in Sofia, and began to beg. The man, who did not receive a single coin from the Bulgarian people for his livelihood, donated all his lifelong begging to the poor through charities. He lived for 103 years and traveled 20 km every day, begging and donating all his wealth to charities.

5000 euros to Saints Cyril and Methodius Church in his hometown
12,500 for the monastery of Eleshnishki
17,850 to the Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky in Sofia

In addition to these charities, the man with these rare traits has made many donations to many others. According to a post-mortem survey, more than 60,000 euros had been earmarked for the needs of the poor.
